This is the wood that I will be using for the Bench.
The second piece I made - I was so excited to assemble that I forgot to put a protective coat over the stain. This is simply 1x2's with a piece of MDF as the top, and a cushion and some fabric stapled over it. Sturdy as hell.
This is a table I built from another railroad tie I had, not too different from the one being used for the bench. I got the legs from haripinlegs.com. No stain here, just some lacquer.
A closer view of the table. Beautiful grain.
I built this desk for my wife when she decided to go back to school. The top boards are from a barn in Ohio that I picked up at a local scrap yard. The legs are simply 4x4's notched out to fit together. There is also a hidden drawer running the length of the front of the desk. The drawer is attached with drawer slides.
One of a pair of bedside tables I built. This was my first time using Poplar. The doors and sides are wainscoting covered by some trim. The top is carera marble that I purchased off of Craigslist. the knobs were custom built with an "E" for our last name. I bought them off of Etsy. Can't recall where I got the butterfly hinges.....
Wider view of the bedside table. It is a copy of one they sell at Restoration Hardware for $350. I paid less than half.
This is a framed photo of my wife and I from our wedding. The wood is made from the stakes that are used to prop up young grapevines. We got married at a private vineyard, so that is why we used vineyard stalks to build it.
This is an example of something I made for a customer. This is an indoor planter box made out of redwood. This was custom built to her specifications and she will be planting succulents (small cacti that grow well with little water in CA). I charged her $185. Fair?
